FIBA RULES AND REGULATIONS WITH THE FOLLOWING MODIFICATIONS
1. First half is 22 minutes running time except last minute stop time only on the ref’s whistle (not on made baskets). Second half is 22 minutes with the last 2 minutes stop time on the refs whistle (not on made basket). If the point spread is 20 or greater there will be no clock stoppages.
2. One 60 second timeout per half with no carry over. Timeouts can be called on the court when in control of ball. One 60 second timeout in OT no carry overs.
3. Over time rule: first team to score 7 points (all other elements of the second half apply i.e. direction, team fouls). Final score will be recorded as the accumulative for the entire game.
4. 24 second clock at official’s discretion. 10 second warning will be called out. 8 seconds to get to front court.
5. Poles are out of bounds.
6. Ball can go over backboards on a shot or pass without violation.
7. New over and back FIBA rule: All 3 points must cross the centre line in order to be considered in the front court.
8. No over and back violation off the opening tip.
9. Bonus penalty is 2 shots on the 9th team foul in the half and onwards.
10. Technical fouls count as team and personal fouls. The penalty is 2 free throws and possession of the ball @ centre court.
11. NO SWEARING NO SWEARING NO SWEARING - a technical foul will be assessed for this infraction ZERO TOLERANCE FOR THE “F” WORD.
12. Substitutions are allowed in between free throws, except for the shooter.
13. A timeout called by the offence in the last minute of the second half will go to centre court.
14. Fighting will result in immediate game ejection. Ejected player must meet with head official and tournament committee before being allowed to resume play in future games.
15. UNIFORM RULE: teams must have proper matching uniforms. Failure to conform will result in ONE TECHNICAL FOUL TO EACH PLAYER. These technical fouls (maximum of 4 technical fouls per team) will not count as a personal foul nor a team foul. Technical free throws will be taken prior to the start of game.
